The article aims to identify the different degrees of socio-environmental vulnerability of the municipalities identified as having a high risk of climate disasters in the rainfall region of Cariri/Curimataú in Paraíba. For that, it was based on the methodological proposal applied by Cunico et al. (2021), through which, it enabled the identification of social vulnerability, susceptibility to drought and drought, which overlapping, resulted in socio-environmental vulnerability, with classes ranging from very low to very high vulnerability. It was found that in the 35 municipalities analyzed, which account for 431 census tracts, the high and very high social vulnerability classes were identified in 140 census tracts, of which 122 are classified as rural. With regard to susceptibility to drought and drought, the lower class had the highest number of sectors, totaling 176. With regard to socio-environmental vulnerability, the classes that indicate a high degree of socio-environmental vulnerability to drought and drought (high and very high), add up to 52 census sectors, of which 39 are rural sectors. In view of the above, research becomes important due to the possibility of expanding studies on the subject in areas with a semi-arid climate, as well as helping to support planning, aiming to mitigate the damage to which the resident population is exposed, due to of climate disasters.
