ESTUDO DOS IMPACTOS AMBIENTAIS DO AÇUDE ACARAÚ MIRIM – MASSAPÊ – CEARÁ: POTENCIALIDADES E LIMITAÇÕES DE USOS SUSTENTÁVEIS

Abstract

Due to human activities, water has undergone an accelerated process of changing its physical, chemical and bacteriological characteristics, in this sense, the Acaraú Mirim Reservoir, the main surface water supply reservoir of the municipality of Massapê-CE, has suffered the consequences of practices of misuse, requiring an evaluative study. The area under study was analyzed from the hydraulic basin of the Acaraú Mirim reservoir, which corresponds to 497.27 km², and its surrounding communities, in an integrated and systemic way, considering socio-environmental, socioeconomic, historical and cultural aspects, among other variables. Among the main impacts observed is: deforestation, presence of balneary without sanitary structures, suppression of riparian forest for construction of summer houses, presence of corrals and animals raised loose on the banks of the spring, washing clothes, release of domestic sewage and solid waste. Among the positive impacts is a large area in recovery, previously used for subsistence agriculture with non-preservationist farming practices. The study following the principles of TGS allowed the identification of impacts caused by the different activities and their consequences, which will serve as subsidies for future studies and appropriate uses to avoid environmental degradation processes.
