This article presents the results of a voluntary post-doctoral research whose general objective was to investigate the perspective of a group of basic education teachers who supervise the internship as to their expectations about the extensionist actions promoted by the undergraduate Geography degree from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) at the Aquidauana campus. As specific objectives we highlight two propositions: investigate the issues the teachers consider relevant and that are directed to the teaching of geography and, from this process, present them at the university proposing its effectiveness as an extension. The research was developed in a school in the municipality of Aquidauana, and the method developed to investigate the four internship supervisors was the focus group. In the transcriptions of the recordings there is unanimous expectation regarding the contribution of the university and the expectation of extensionist actions directed mainly to Biogeography, Hydrography, Geomorphology and Geopolitics and their relationship with teaching in basic education. As a way of complementing the analysis for this material, it is appropriate to highlight other results obtained, such as those that suggest improvements in relation to the dialogue with the university supervisors regarding access to final reports and feedback during the stages completed by the students. In addition, it is worth mentioning how the school supervisors feel they are co-participants in the process, highlighting that they perform activities that they consider to be pedagogical and not merely bureaucratic.
