Abstract

This text has analyzed the variables of permanent and temporary crops and silviculture in Brazil and Goiás State, according to different area groups. For this, it was used documentary, bibliographic and internet research. The results show that small establishments dominate permanent crop production. Goiás State has less use and appropriation of space by permanent cultivations, which implies a strong dependence on imports to supply the market. On the other hand, there is a dominance of large establishments in commercial silviculture, despite the reasonable participation of small strata in other forestry activities. In temporary crops, large and medium-sized establishments dominate, especially in commodity production. However, in many temporary crops, it is outstanding the control of small groups of area. Landless groups, even if they do not have the right to land, contribute to reducing hunger and ensuring food security. In Goiás State, temporary crops predominate in the use and appropriation of space. There is a corporate use of the territory, which results in a multifaceted siege of the social subjects responsible for the small strata, groups without areas.
