Multitemporal dynamic of the landscape in a spatial cutting of the coastal plain of Calçoene, amapá, between the years of 1993 to 2020

Abstract

This study analyzed the dynamics of the landscape in a specific area of the coastal plain of Calçoene, Amapá, from 1993 to 2020. The methodology involved two methods of geospatial analysis: the supervised classification of land use and land cover and the variation of the line of coast, polygon method of changes. Images from the Landsat 5TM satellite (08/03/1993) and Landsat 8 OLI (08/13/2014 and 10/16/2020) were used, in addition to drone flyovers for coverage validation. Several classes of land use and land cover were identified, including forest and grassland vegetation, mangroves, sandy tidal flats, water bodies, pastures, among others. In relation to the coastline, there was a predominance of erosion processes. Between 1993 and 2020, there was a loss of 1,507.68 hectares and a gain of 96.99 hectares, with erosion representing 93.99% of the areas changed, while accretion was responsible for 6%. The cover most affected by erosion was the mangrove with associated species in the Chenier plain, with a loss of 14.85 hectares over that period. The results confirmed the occurrence of significant changes in short periods in the area and contribute to the physical and environmental recognition, aiming at the generation of coastal management instruments.
