Abstract

The vulnerability theme has been increasingly discussed and addressed in scientific studies, therefore, geotechnologies have become a contribution to provide data so that vulnerabilities are discovered and managed correctly. Within this context, the present study aimed to present the importance of the use of geotechnologies for the analysis of vulnerabilities, as well as to present works with studies about vulnerabilities using geotechnologies, allowing the proper origins regarding the use and management of certain areas studied, avoiding more serious damage to the spaces in question. Thirty-one academic works from different databases were analyzed, and after screening, 16 articles remained on the proposed theme, where such studies provided new perspectives on vulnerability analysis and the use of geotechnologies for this process.

Master in Planning and Territorial Dynamics in the Semiarid Region from the State University of Rio Grande do Norte (UERN). Degree in Geography from the Federal University of Campina Grande (CFP/UFCG). Degree in Pedagogy from Faculdades Integradas do Ceará (UniFIC). Professor at Faculdades Integradas do Ceará (UniFIC) campus Iguatú/CE.

Franklin Roberto da Costa, State University of Rio Grande do Norte

Bachelor's degree in Geography from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2003), Specialization in Environment and Public Policy from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2005), Master's in Development and Environment from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2010 ) and PhD in Development and Environment - PRODEMA/RN (2018). He is currently Adjunct Professor IV and coordinator of the Cartography and Geoprocessing Laboratory - LAGEO/CAPF/UERN, in addition to acting as Permanent Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Planning and Territorial Dynamics of the Semiarid Region at the Advanced Campus of Pau dos Ferros - CAPF - of the University of the State of Rio Grande do Norte - UERN
