Globalization, a phenomenon that, according to some theorists, began during the mercantilist period, acquired new elements starting in the second half of the 20th century with the consolidation of advances in communication and transportation. These developments led to the proximity of geographically distant places, cultural, economic, and social exchanges, and an increased flow of people and goods around the world. In this context, education and the teaching of Geography were equally affected, with the latter taking on the role of revealing globalization and the contemporary world in its different facets. This paper proposes the concept of counter-rationality to inspire new contributions to the teaching of Geography and active methodologies, which have become increasingly influential in educational practices today. In this sense, the aim of this article is to present a methodology for teaching Geography that seeks to discuss globalization through the perspective of Professor Milton Santos, using the concepts of fable, perversity, and possibility, as discussed by the author in his book Por uma outra globalização ("For Another Globalization"). The proposed approach involves constructing a classroom news bulletin board that represents these facets of globalization, with the goal of developing a counter-rational proposal for Geography education. To achieve this, news articles addressing the intended topics were gathered, printed, and used to create the bulletin board with the 3rd-year students of EEM Júlia Catunda in the city of Santa Quitéria-CE during the years 2022, 2023, and 2024. As for the article itself, the first stage involved a literature review of scientific papers and books to build the theoretical framework and the photographic records of the lessons, providing documentary support for the development of this text.
