Abstract

O the study proposes a brief discussion on the spatialization of agribusiness in the Cerrado. This is justified by its relevance to School Geography in terms of the critical, social, and political development of students in their second year of high school at the state school Escola Estadual Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira, and the understanding of the local and global dynamics on which this production system is based. Thus, it is intended to problematize the production of commodities aimed at the foreign market, the use of central pivot taking as an example the city of Cristalina (GO), as well as the environmental issues that modern agriculture provokes us to think about, such as environmental degradation and the intense use of pesticides in crops. The methodology employed was qualitative in nature, following the educational path proposed by Cavalcanti (2014): problematize, systematize, and synthesize. Through the methodological proposal employed on the agricultural context present in the Cerrado, the students had the opportunity to understand this issue from a geographical perspective in which they are inserted, which brought as a result the possibility of changing their interpretation of the theme.
