Abstract

The article discusses the impacts on the landscape of Praça Tiradentes, in the city of Ouro Preto/MG, on the patrimony of its Historic Center and on the of Carnival. Approching the relationships between urban planning, cultural patrimony and tourism. It is observed the historical, architectural and cultural valorization, in the conception of city marketing, through the use of local symbols for the construction of a strong identity in the market projection between cities. The Tiradentes Squere is recognized for its exceptional landscape, being one of the place main for the Carnival. Tourism will appropriate this architectural symbolism of the place constantly and ephemerally, in the carnivalesque immateriality. Carnival is discussed as a promotion of the tourist destination, through the advertising image in the landscape and its impacts on the global information period, used by big companies as a market strategy, in the use of the scenario of the spectacle of the historical and cultural patrimony in the landscape of the Tiradentes Square.
