Abstract

The geologic epoch of Anthropocene has frequently been appearing in many science divulgations, helping debates and studies around human action over nature. The present work had as its main aim to analyze the time behavior of a gully transformation in Jardim das Paineiras neighborhood, in Rondonópolis City – MT-Brazil and to verify how its classification as technogenic grounds alters throughout the time. The methodological procedures used were: selection and analysis of images on Google Earth Pro software of 2009, 2017, 2018 e 2020, and the classification of technogenic grounds according to Peloggia (2017) and field works. The results of satellite images and field works observations allowed to verify the progresses and retreats in size and form of the gully; to understand that these progress and retreat behaviors allowed to classify the gully, in analyzed years, technogenic grounds of different types; lastly, it was possible to realize that the causes are direct reflections of society, mainly in county public administration.
