Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the hydrological parameters in the Mindu Igarapé, located in the urban area of the Manaus city. The hydrological year of the Mindu Igarapé indicates that the high water occurs between January-May and the low water period between June-December, with the igarapé quotas being influenced by the precipitation regime in the city of Manaus. However, the lower Mindu follows the hydrological regime of the Negro River, this is because the igarapé is subjected to a backwater effect. The mean annual water discharge is 16.4 m s-1 at six points analyzed, however, the water discharge along the length of the igarapé is influenced by the backwater effect, neotectonic and anthropic influence.
